The Association of Independent Museums' Museum Fundamentals grants programme combines invaluable collections care and conservation support from the Pilgrim Trust with funding from the Julia Rausing Trust. The grants programme encourages small and medium sized museums to create projects based on their collections' needs, which improve knowledge, care and access to our nation's heritage.

We are delighted that the Museum Fundamentals programme is supporting the restoration of Benjamin Britten's viola to playable condition. Once restored, it will be a vital tool in The Red House collection, able to connect audiences across the UK and participants in our education programmes with a living piece of Britten's story.Â
