Pianist Pierre-Laurent Aimard gives an introduction to one of the most astonishing, virtuosic piano cycles – Ligeti's Etudes.

Delve deeply into some of the richest piano music of the late 20th century in the company of arguably its finest interpreter. In this talk, Pierre-Laurent Aimard introduces a scintillating evening of Ligeti in Snape Maltings Concert Hall.

As part of this fascinating talk, Aimard will perform some unpublished Etudes material, which links back to Ligeti's roots and his childhood. This is the first of three events in an engrossing evening of Ligeti.
