Set within the atmospheric space of Framlingham Church, this expressive programme for piano and clarinet is a radiant celebration of home-grown musical brilliance, from Malcolm Arnold to Herbert Howells.

Clarinettist James Meldrum and pianist Maciej Kassak present this vibrant collaboration which celebrates the rich, characterful sound-world of 20th century England. There’s sparkling wit in Arnold’s Sonatina and the lyrical intimacy of Finzi’s Five Bagatelles, while John Ireland’s evocative Fantasy adds sweeping romantic colour. The concert closes with Herbert Howell’s emotionally resonant Sonata and with the irresistibly charming Sonatina by Horovitz.
