New works and tracks from Stream – a journey from cloudy skies to sunnier climes, weaving Scottish folklore with contemporary jazz

The BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists scheme supports some of the world’s most exciting young instrumentalists, singers and ensembles at the start of their international careers through performance and recording opportunities. Over the years, many have found a home at Snape. To kick off our showcase weekend, we're delighted to welcome the Chaos Quartet back as you've never seen them before – letting their hair down with the Fergus McCreadie Trio and renowned cellist Santiago Cañón Valencia.

Almost all the music you'll hear this evening has been specially written for the event. The performers get together in different combinations to create electrifying new sound worlds that draw on their personal backgrounds, as well as taking inspiration from Scottish folklore and the Suffolk countryside.

You are warmly invited to join the performers in the Reekie Bar for a post-concert drink and mingle.
