Catherine Ennis Memorial Recital: Jonathan Scott
Spectacular sounds on the splendid organ at Orford Church as leading British organist Jonathan Scott gives a recital including Mozart, Vivaldi, Britten and Liszt.
The annual Catherine Ennis Memorial Recital in Orford Church commemorates the late Catherine Ennis, former president of the Royal College of Organists and director of music at the Church of St Lawrence Jewry, London. Catherine was Patron of the Orford Organ Project, which saw the successful installation in Orford of the magnificent Peter Collins organ originally built in 1977 for the Turner Sims Concert Hall in Southampton, and designed by Britten scholar, Prof. Peter Evans.
Described as “The leading British organist” (BBC Radio 3), Jonathan Scott enjoys a hugely varied international performing career on a diverse spectrum of keyboard instruments, and is known throughout the world for his virtuoso arrangements and performances of major orchestral music for the pipe organ. As Associate Artist of The Bridgewater Hall, Manchester, Jonathan gives a series of organ recitals which attract huge audiences, and with his brother, Tom, his performance videos on the Scott Brother Duo YouTube channel have achieved more than 100 million views making them some of the most watched in the world.
