The King’s Singers | (GL)ORIANA
Join vocal group The King’s Singers for a programme including Benjamin Britten’s work dedicated to Queen Elizabeth II.
This programme focuses on the two great Elizabeths: Queen Elizabeth I, whose nickname was “Oriana”, and Queen Elizabeth II, whose coronation was honoured by Britten’s opera Gloriana in 1953. Through the lens of music written in praise of the two monarchs, The King’s Singers capture some of the sounds of British life in the first and second Elizabethan ages.
A special moment to enjoy this renowned ensemble in the intimate and atmospheric setting of the historic Walpole Old Chapel.
