Pleasant and Delightful

Based in and around the East Suffolk area of Leiston, William ‘Jumbo’ Brightwell (1900-1978) made quite a name for himself as a collector and performer of local folk songs. Paul Sartin’s arrangement of Jumbo’s ‘Pleasant and Delightful’ harks back to a time gone by and uses beautiful imagery to tug at the heartstrings. You can perform this in 1, 2 or 3 parts but as with all strophic songs, the story is key!
