This modern interpretation of the 19th Century song from the Isle of Skye, Scotland, tells of Bonnie Prince Charlie’s escape from capture following his defeat at the Battle of Culloden in 1746. The simple, lilting, melody is given triumphant support from the fanfare-esq piano accompaniment in the latter stages.
