It was in deep midwinter when I wrote this song. I was in one of the most remote and northerly parts of the Scottish Highlands. I was thinking about seeing the haar for the first time; driving by a loch with a herd of deer running alongside and ahead of me — all the time imagining I could hear the Christmas bells of St. Paul’s Cathedral in London.
