Visitor and Box Office Assistant (Seasonal)

Music-related charitable work includes Artist Development, a year-round Performance Programme, Music in the Community and Creative Health and our Living Heritage Museum and Archive at The Red House.
At Snape Maltings, our significant commercial activity includes Retail, Hospitality, Galleries and Property – including holiday lets and accommodation for visiting artists. All commercial profits are used to support the BPA charity. We employ more than 150 permanent colleagues, many of whom work flexibly, together with significant numbers of seasonal staff and freelancers.

We look forward to welcoming visitors, families and holiday makers to Snape Maltings this spring and summer season and are recruiting to expand our Box Office Team, on a seasonal basis, to support our permanent Visitor Centre/box office team.
Hours will be in the region of 15 per week, to include weekend working. There may be additional hours at peak times.
The role includes:
- Greeting and welcoming visitors who come to the Concert Hall Visitor Centre- providing information about the site and local area as needed.
- Responding courteously and efficiently to general enquiries - in person, by e-mail and on the telephone.
- Selling tickets to concerts and events at Snape and other venues.
- Being able to cover shifts at The Red House and other locations where we have performances on an ad hoc basis.
We are looking for:
- Previous customer service experience.
- Friendly and confident communication skills, someone who can relate to people from all walks of life.
- Confident IT skills - Microsoft and, ideally, databases/booking systems.
- Someone who is interested in heritage or the arts.
- Someone who is available to work weekends and evenings (usually to 7.30pm) on a rota basis.
