River View Restaurant has been the setting for weddings, celebrations, and the beginning of countless memorable evenings in the Snape Maltings Concert Hall and following the comprehensive kitchen refurbishment beginning in January, the restaurant re-opens in April with an enhanced dining experience and increased capacity.
Overlooking the reedbeds and the River Alde, the restaurant’s panoramic views provide a striking backdrop for our more formal pre-concert dining offer. Menus are shaped by the seasons, with an emphasis on local produce and purposeful, considered cooking.

With all profits supporting Britten Pears Arts, River View Restaurant plays a key role in our ongoing investment in sustainable income for the future.
Showcasing the best of Suffolk produce, carefully assembled dishes celebrate close relationships with local suppliers - from lobsters landed by Wightmans to Coppa crafted by Sunday Charcuterie. These direct connections are central to how we cook and what we serve.

Storytelling through both food and wine is important to our approach and our wine list has been curated with provenance firmly in mind. Our ongoing relationships with Chapel Down and Coastal Reach Wines continue to bring an outstanding selection of English wines, including, for the first time an English red made with Divico grapes, an elegant and distinctive addition to the menu. These alongside our full curated wine list, plentiful with choice from classic Champagne from Louis Roederer to the lesser-known Organic vineyards of Abruzzo in Italy, where the Carlo family, trace their wine making roots back to 1830, now run by Frederico and Daniele, supply us with their truly exceptional Pecorino.

As River View Restaurant continues to evolve, and in response to changing patterns of alcohol consumption, we are introducing our first dedicated non-alcoholic menu. Intentionally separate from carbonated soft drinks, these premium alternatives are designed to offer the same complexity, balance, and sense of occasion more often associated with alcoholic drinks. These are not Mocktails, these are purposeful drinks; Pentire, a non-alcoholic spirit, distilled with rock samphire, headland sage and sea purslane, a nod to our coastal location combines perfectly with artisan tonic, through to the Jorg Geiger Sauvignon Blanc combined with the complex notes of Mirabelle plum, blossom, pear and gooseberry.

A familiar location, but a new and exciting approach to dining at Snape Maltings.
