Pavel Kolesnikov, pianist
Acclaimed pianist Pavel Kolesnikov was born in Siberia into a family of scientists. Now based in London, he is celebrated for his imaginative, thought-provoking programming, which offers the listener a fresh, often unexpected perspective on familiar pieces. He is an avid ensemble player, and regularly performs in piano duo with Samson Tsoy. His “crusading vision” won him the Critic’s Circle Young Talent Award in 2019, and his sixth album, Bach’s Goldberg Variations, was released in 2020.
