Phillipe Sands is an international human rights lawyer, King's Counsel, and Professor of Law at University College London. He is widely recognised for authoring many acclaimed books, including multi award winning East West Street. In addition to his academic and literary work, Phillipe is a prominent commentator for the BBC, CNN, and numerous other international broadcasters.

His most recent book, 38 Londres Street (2025), explores themes of impunity through intertwined narratives involving Pinochet in England and the legacy of a Nazi figure in Patagonia.
