Aldeburgh Beach and Lowestoft Beach

Our annual beach pilgrimage to celebrate the Solstice Sunrise, along with a new work commemorating the first and last moments of Britten, our founding composer.

We’ll watch the sunrise together, and listen to the first performance of a new work commissioned by the Aldeburgh Festival and First Light Festival. Inspired by the starting and ending places of Britten’s life, the work will be performed simultaneously on Lowestoft and Aldeburgh beaches.

As in previous years, The Suffolk will be providing delicious bacon baps (plus vegetarian option) for purchase.

In the event of wet weather, it might be transferred indoors or cancelled; we will keep our social media updated at the time.

Free; no need to book.
