A night that spans genres, decades and emotions, featuring the bittersweet elegance of Cole Porter, devastatingly powerful Sondheim and rich romanticism from Gustav and Alma Mahler.

Music from popular films and musicals rubs shoulders with much loved works from the concert hall in this daring and wide-ranging programme from the ever inventive Fantasia Orchestra and guest mezzo-soprano Niamh O’Sullivan.

The evening is a celebration of 20th-century song, whether it’s joyously jazzy music from George Gershwin and Cole Porter or emotionally powerful works from Strauss and Gustav Mahler. An eclectic mix that’s carefully curated to tell a story that is moving, varied and richly expressive.
