Irish Baroque Orchestra: Alexander’s Feast
Following their sell-out 2024 concert, the Olivier Award-winning Irish Baroque Orchestra return to Snape with a performance of Handel’s dramatic Alexander’s Feast.
This “ode with music” is a wonderful work of colour and high drama, played here by world-class artists led by Peter Whelan.
Alexander’s Feast, or the Power of Music – relates the story of how the musician Timotheus sings and plays his lyre, inciting the emotions of emperor Alexander the Great as only music could. A thrilling conclusion to Summer at Snape 2025, fresh from The BBC Proms.
The Irish Baroque Orchestra is celebrated as Ireland’s flagship period-instrument orchestra and delivers top-quality historically-informed performances across Ireland and abroad.
