Vivaldi’s evocative Four Seasons never fails to captivate audiences – especially when in the hands of one of the world’s greatest Baroque violinists, Rachel Podger and her superb ensemble Brecon Baroque.

The sheer musical inventiveness of The Four Seasons enables it to sound vital and fresh despite our familiarity with it, and a performance by a group playing period instruments, such as Brecon Baroque, can lend it both an extra edge of raw excitement and also reveal new delicacy in the music. It’s paired in this performance with music from Bach’s dazzling The Art of Fugue.
