“Slung Mugs” is the name of a musical instrument devised by Britten for his opera Noye’s Fludde, now exhibited at The Red House. Borrowed for this new show by Ffiona Lewis – oil paintings, weavings, woolworks and photographs – the work reflects Lewis’s total fascination and absorption of this extraordinary house, garden and archive that was Britten and Pears’ home and studio.
