The wild ride that is Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique, plus Thomas Adés’ Grammy Award-winning Purgatorio.

The National Youth Orchestra bring their youthful energy to Berlioz’s shockingly powerful masterpiece, which includes everything from a hallucinatory march and a satanic dance to intoxicating romance. Thomas Adès conducts, and brings his own darkly atmospheric Purgatorio, in which prerecorded voices combine with live orchestra. Liszt’s famous tone poem, Mephisto Waltz No.1, opens the concert.
