Bartók String Quartets
Experience all six of Bartók’s string quartets across these two concerts – music that is perhaps the composer’s greatest achievement.
The purest expression of his interest in Hungarian folk song, Bartók’s Quartets are here performed by members of the Britten Pears Summer Academy alongside the acclaimed Kelemen Quartet, true masters of this music. This unique side‑by‑side presentation offers a rare chance to experience the complete set of mould-breaking quartets .
Two concerts of approximately 90 minutes each, each featuring a different selection of Bartók’s six string quartets.
