The fee for the 2026/27 academic year is £3,310 per student. This can be paid in full at the start of the year, in three termly instalments, or spread over ten months by monthly standing order.

We are committed to ensuring that financial circumstances are not a barrier to joining AYM.  

All students offered a place can apply for means-tested grants through the Department for Education’s Music and Dance Scheme (MDS).  

• Full grant (covering all fees): household income below £34,037
• Partial grant: household income between £34,037 and £74,883

We encourage applications from all young musicians, regardless of financial background

To be eligible for an MDS grant, applicants must meet residency criteria (including three years’ residency in the UK or qualifying status within the European Economic Area or Switzerland, or refugee status – conditions apply). Final thresholds for 2026/27 will be confirmed in Summer 2026.
